General Truce flew down the final straight to gobble up the field and win the $115,000 race.
The five-year-old won the 2013 DC McKay Stakes by a nose in front of Karacatis, who finished second, and Honey Flower, who rounded out the placings in third position.
The Brief Truce gelding won his last start in the $80,000 Yarraville Handicap at Flemington Racecourse and was attempting to win his second Group level title in the 2013 DC McKay Stakes.
General Truce is trained at Cranbourne by Ricky Maund and was ridden by jockey Nicholas Hall.
The gallant sprinter was having his second run at Adelaide’s Morphettville Racecourse in the 2013 DC McKay Stakes, with his last attempt resulting in a third placing in the Group 2 Yallambee Classic in 2011.
